About Us

Nixon is our wise old Lab who started it all. Equal parts loyal guardian and giant softy, he's happiest with all 40kg of himself squeezed onto Kim's lap for evening cuddles. A true Labrador, he firmly believes every meal deserves a second helping and can hear a treat packet being opened from the other end of the property.

Every walk ends with a mission to bring home the biggest stick he can find, and if there's  water nearby—whether it's a lake, creek or muddy puddle—he'll sniff it out and jump straight in. Each night, Nix does the rounds to tuck the kids into bed before settling in for a well-earned snooze.

If happiness had four legs, it would be Maple. She has perfected the art of smiling and greets every person like they're her new best friend. She lives life at full speed - Zoomies, tail chasing, digging enormous holes, rolling in the mud and then proudly asking to come back inside covered from nose to tail... that's all in a day’s work for Maple.

She also has a slight obsession with stealing socks, the dishcloth and Bea's favourite teddies when nobody's looking.

Chief treat dealer, road trip enthusiast and the brains behind The Farmer's Dog. Paul is the ideas man. He's constantly thinking of new products, better ways to do things and occasionally ideas that leave the rest of us asking, "Are you serious?"

You'll usually find him out on the road delivering treats and catching up with customers, because talking dogs (and their humans) is one of his favourite parts of the job.

Without Paul's ideas, The Farmer's Dog wouldn't exist. Without Kim, they'd probably still be written on the back of a serviette. 

If Paul is dreaming up ideas, Kim is the one making sure they actually happen. Like an octopus with a never-ending to-do list, she somehow juggles family life, the business, customer emails, labels, packing orders and making sure everything looks beautiful, flows smoothly and feels just right.

If you've received a neatly packed parcel or admired something on our website, there's a good chance Kim had a hand in it.

Officially retired. Unofficially, busier than ever!

As our resident Shrink-Wrapping Wizard, master packer, handyman and all-round legend, he's carefully packed thousands upon thousands of treats over the years. If you've ever ordered from us, chances are your treats have passed through John's hands before arriving at your door. When he's not in the packing shed, you'll usually find him fixing something or asking Kim if there’s a logical explanation behind any of Paul’s actions.

Our biggest animal lover and enthusiastic little helper. Bea loves lending a hand in the packing shed…in exchange for a steady stream of mini Oreos. So if you’ve ever encountered a wonky label, chances are it was Bea (or Paul, but he’ll say Bea did it).

She makes sure Nixon, Maple and Gypsy receive plenty of cuddle breaks during the day and reminds us to see the world with curiosity and a little bit of magic.

Jasper spends most of his time wrestling with Nixon and Maple, bouncing with Maple on the trampoline and wondering why absolutely everything he owns is covered in golden fur. While packing treats isn't always high on his priority list, the promise of screen time, a new computer game or an upgrade for his PC can turn him into a surprisingly enthusiastic employee.

Every country business needs a cat, and Gypsy has very clear ideas about how things should be run. She patrols the shelves in the packing shed, finds the comfiest places to sleep, claims every empty cardboard box as her own and enjoys terrorising Nixon and Maple whenever the mood strikes. Around here, everyone knows who's really in charge... and it's definitely not the humans.
